Awards campaigns for the FX Network

OOH | Print | Digital

When I worked at FX, I had two career highlights:

Number 1: John Landgraf, President of FX and leader extraordinaire, said the Emmys campaign our team created was the best work he had ever seen from the FX Awards team. To make it even sweeter, FX received a record amount of nominations and awards that year.

This highlight was followed closely by being allowed to wallpaper the streets of L.A. with Steve Carrell’s face.

  • At FX, there were two teams in our department. The key art team created artwork to promote the show before and during its airing and the awards team created follow-up campaigns after a show aired to remind viewers to vote for them during awards season.

The majority of my time was spent designing Awards campaigns. The challenge was to create marketing materials that differed from the key art but still visually communicated the essence of the show and reminded voters why they loved it.

We were given the option to reinterpret the key art, and in some cases, create original artwork. Campaign components included wild postings, print and digital ads, OOH, and digital takeovers.
